Executive Chef Alastair McLeod leads Bretts Wharf’s restaurant, on-site private function room and off-site catering.

The business was established in 1995 and is owned by restaurateurs Francis and Marilyn Domenech and property developers Ross and Genny Nielson.

Bretts Wharf is located right on the river at near-city Hamilton on the site of the original Bretts Wharf timber wharves that were built at the turn of the last century. This iconic Brisbane seafood restaurant’s design blurs the lines between inside and outside with the use of louvres and corrugated iron and reflects our love of al fresco dining by the water. The food philosophy in the restaurant is fresh seafood served simply, where anyone can come and feel welcome and relaxed.

The private on-site function room – The River Room – is a stylish elegant space set quite separately to the restaurant.  This room opens on to a covered terrace and lawn and has views of the water and city lights.  It is perfect for all types of Brisbane functions including corporate events, special occasions and wedding receptions.  There are also smaller spaces, including a stunning private dining room.

Bretts Wharf off-site catering provides restaurant quality food at a wide range of external and unique venues in Brisbane as well as at clients own premises or homes.  Bretts Wharf has been the caterer for many of the most high profile events in Brisbane and south east Queensland and is a multi-award winner for the quality of  food and service.
