Our Story
Bretts Wharf was established in 1995 by its owners Francis and Marilyn Domenech and Ross and Genny Nielson to provide fresh seasonal seafood, particularly local seafood, in an informal riverside setting. The aim was to create an iconic Brisbane dining experience.
They also created a private riverside function venue, The River Room, alongside the restaurant with a unique point of difference of serving restaurant quality food in a function environment.
In 2003 they established an off-site catering division in response to the growing needs of the corporate event market in Queensland.
Responsibility for the day to day performance of Bretts Wharf is Executive Chef Alastair McLeod. Alastair provides leadership and the passion for good food and service, within the group now employing nearly 100 dedicated staff.
